Twelve Qualities of Spirit - (spiritual leader quotes) Peace
No commentsBy Peri Enkin
When it comes to peace I want to talk about the heart. You just cannot get to peace when the heart is constricted or closed.
For many years I have observed how energy flows through the emotional and physical bodies. When you go looking for peace, the head will only get you limited access. You must enter through the heart and you must bring awareness to what you feel there.
In order to do that you must take that long journey of approximately twelve inches - from your head down into your heart.
When consciousness awakens at the heart the entrance to inner peace finally becomes accessible. When the heart is closed there may be surface contentment but there will not be lasting or sustained tranquility.
I love these words from Black Elk: The first peace, which is the most important, is that which comes within the souls of people when they realize their relationship, their oneness with the universe and all its powers, and when they realize that at the center of the universe dwells the Great Spirit, and that this center is really everywhere, it is within each of us.
I enjoy the idea of a “first peace” - a primary peace that brings us into relationship with all that is. When we turn our attention to spiritual qualities we remember our connection to the eternal. And if we remember that connection while attending to our human experiences we experience an underlying link that heals our separateness.
Spiritual and Physical are not separate. When we remember our spiritual essence, we place our humanity into a positive perspective. We have the possibility of embodying our essence right here and now within our physical experience.
What does this mean, practically? And what does it mean for our interpersonal relationships? Well, first it means that when we know peace inside ourselves we have the capacity to be less reactive in our dealings with others. We have more capacity to listen to another persons “story” without letting it trigger our own ingrained reactions or knock us away from our own equilibrium. Sometimes!
Peace also heals our perfectionism. When we remember we have the option to choose peace we are more likely to accept things as they are without needing to fix or change them to make them acceptable to us. That includes other people.
With peace we gain more spaciousness in our heart. And with that spaciousness our capacity for compassionate communication and empathy increases.
Inner peace takes away our restlessness and our grasping. We gain the ability to be more fully present with others because we are more present within ourselves. Peace gives us fullness. It rounds out our nature and takes the edge off our neediness.
And here is one of the little known advantages of a connection to inner peace. From a peaceful center we are able to uncover our genuine desires, our passions and our life purpose. Our intuition increases and we can hear the whispers of our own spirit calling us forward to more fulfilled living.
The trick to inner peace is that you cannot get there without a willingness to release ideas of right and wrong, good and bad, my way or the highway. And there is no faking it!Pseudo peace disturbs the sleep and makes the supposed peacemaker untrustworthy.
To experience more peace:
- Notice what disturbs you. Tell the truth. Is it really something to fuss over? The choice to make something a big deal or a small deal belongs to you.
- Notice what concerns you.Let the concern inspire you to more possibilities. Instead of worrying get creative.
- Notice what unsettles you. Observe these incidents of unrest as if they are surface waves upon a still and deep ocean. Go deeper. Do not stop until you relax and find harmony.
The Connection Option: Peace
At the core of our energy systems is a quiet, still point of peace. This peace is like a pool of calm, the eye of a hurricane, a deep inner sanctuary. As we connect with the energy of peace we uncover a home base within that is available regardless of the outer conditions or circumstances that surround us.
As a Victim:
I am lost, troubled, stressed and distressed. I cannot imagine feeling content until something or someone in my external world changes.
As a Creator:
I choose peace. I know that peace is available to me regardless of what happens around me.
Action for Peace:
I breathe deeply, and rest assured that peace is a natural state of consciousness and that consciousness is my consciousness today.

Qi Dao Coaching and Qigong Healing
By Lama Somananda Tantrapa
Most health professionals agree that patients heal when they are ready to heal. An energy healing modality promoting facilitating self-healing deserves some serious attention at this day and age.
Thousands of years ago, Qigong formed the foundation of Oriental medicine and needs to be regarded as such. All styles of Qigong work with Qi universal energy, or life force that is considered to be the basis of life; therefore, energy awareness offers us the key to health, happiness and longevity. Most styles of Qigong use movements, breathing, meditation and visualization for the purpose of cultivating Qi. They are often taught through doing forms, or choreographed movements, that are to be memorized and repeated on a regular basis.
At one time or another, all styles originated from a primordial foundation of Qigong that was deeply rooted in the Shamanic Medicine Dances. Tibetan Shamanic Qigong, also known as Qi Dao, goes back to the Shamanic roots of Qigong and encourages its practitioners to stay true to the universality of this energy art. Its spiritual tradition has been preserved in my family by twenty-seven generations of masters who dedicated their lives to exploring the ways to apply energy awareness to all spheres of life, from fighting to healing and sexual energy arts.
In contrast to doing any repetitive Qigong or Tai Chi forms, Qi Dao teaches us how to feel the flow of energy and how to be in the flow. The practice of Qi Dao includes no routines of repetitive movements that are supposed to manipulate or cultivate Qi. Unlike acupuncturists, Qi Dao practitioners have no need for memorizing the myriad of acupuncture points and meridians; instead, we learn to navigate the energetic pathways by feeling the flow of Qi, using our personal observation and intuition. Free of any methods of manipulating others energy or directing it where we think it should go, Qi Dao teaches us that there is an abundant source of energy within us that we can tap by paying attention to the existing flow of Qi without any judgments. Empowering others to embody such an attitude became the hallmark of the new discipline is called Qi Dao Coaching.
The flow of things, traditionally referred to as the Dao, makes no mistakes; therefore, Qi always flows as it should. Even if the energy doesnt appear to flow as expected, it still flows somewhere as long as we are alive. When we experience any symptoms, i.e. pain in any part of the body, most of us habitually tend to worry about the pain perceiving it as a problem, or an energy blockage. Qi Dao teaches us to shift our attention from the worries about pain to the flow of energy that may be streaming somewhere around the block, just like water flowing around any obstacles. The practitioners of Qi Dao learn to accept every experience as a lesson, rather than a problem, and to accept the challenge of surrendering to the flow of Qi.
As Qi Dao practitioners, we learn to trust that, no matter what happened or will happen to us, our lives constantly unfold in the way that resonates with the energies we identify with. On one hand, we always experience exactly what we need to experience in order to learn our lifes lessons. On the other hand, we have the freedom of choice as to which energies to identify with moment by moment. By bringing this awareness into the present moment, Qi Dao Coaching helps us reveal our inner nature spontaneously through fluid and natural movements, sounds and other expressions. This approach to movement therapy and bodywork is deeply rooted in this archetypal field of human consciousness, our true nature. Consciously entering Qigong State allows us to suspend discriminating logic and judgmental reasoning. This promotes profound experiences in dynamic meditation and lucid dreaming, facilitating profound peace and receptivity to inner guidance. In this meditative state, we learn to perceive energy flowing through the body and simply surrender to that flow, which feels like total harmony and well-being.
Qi Dao Coaching clients heal themselves by learning to manifest the dreams that various parts of their organisms strive for consciously or unconsciously. This empowers them to integrate all the aspects of their bodies, minds and spirits as they learn to embody vibrant health and well-being. Awakening the healer within them, Qi Dao empowers the clients to let go of resistance to their issues and thereby transcend them. It allows them to break through the lifetimes of their old habits and programmed patterns of behavior and body awareness.
I believe that Qi Dao Coaching represents the missing link between the modern body-oriented Somatic Therapies and ancient Shamanic healing, working with the whole human being. Our ancient holistic tradition not only addresses the issues on the physical, emotional, and spiritual levels, but also balances all these levels. With practice, we learn to pay attention to the whole spectrum of spontaneous processes occurring in the human being. Qi Dao Coaching may be a perfect methodology for experiencing and exploring the qualities of human consciousness usually dormant in the conditions of our information age lifestyles.

Freedom from Fear Begins Here and Now
By Tom Stine
Everyone has experienced fear. We know exactly what it feels like, whether it is in the form of anxiety or an extreme terror. But we rarely if ever stop to ask questions about our fears. We have a lot to learn from fear, and asking questions of it will lead us to some interesting observations that can be amazingly helpful. And first and foremost is the that fear is never about the here and now.
It’s true. Fear is always about the future. Without a future, there can be no fear. Fear is the feeling we have when we are anticipating something bad happening. Our minds conjure up a possible future event, and then our nervous system reacts to these thoughts by stimulating our bodies in that familiar group of sensations we call fear. It really is as simple as that.
By knowing that fear is always about the future, we can use this simple fact to start to undo it and become free of it for good. If you will notice, you are not living in the future. Or the past. You are living right now. Here, in this spot and at this moment. And be honest, can you ever know what is actually going to happen in the future? Can you know what will happen tomorrow or next week? No, you can’t. And that is how you begin to undo fear. You recognize that it is about a future that you can never know. This recognition is the beginning of your freedom.
Let’s look at an example. Suppose you are like many people and are worried about your finances. The grocery bill is getting larger each month, gas prices are up, but you are not earning any more money. You start to feel a nagging worry, a sense of anxiety, a fear about what will happen a year from now. “Will I run out of money?” you ask yourself.
To gain your freedom from this fear, begin by noticing what is here right now. Do you have plenty of food to eat? Do you have gas for the car? A job? Some savings? Take a brief look at the reality of your life now. Not a year from now. Now.
Then, ask yourself, “Do I know what the future will be like? Can I honestly say I know?” Of course not. You can never know. Then allow that realization to sink into your system. Let it settle into your body.
The first thing you will notice from doing a simple process like this one is that you feel lighter, freer, more open. The fear has lifted some (or completely vanished). You feel more alive and capable of dealing with life and it’s situations.
The second thing you notice is that your creativity and intuition increase exponentially. Your ability to solve problems improves, and your sense of the best solution grows more accurate. If your concerns were about money, you start to see interesting ways you can save money. You gain a new insight into how to earn more, get a raise at your current job, or find better employment.
Freeing yourself from fear is both simple to do and beneficial. Plus, you feel good, too. While there are many other techniques that can help you find lasting freedom, this simple one of recognizing the here and now will work wonders.
